Centre For Cancer Genetic Epidemiology

 

Professor Douglas Easton has been awarded the joint Lombardy Research Prize 2025. The award dedicated to the theme “Innovative methods of early diagnosis or preventive medicine”, has been jointly conferred upon British professors Mark Caulfield and Douglas F. Easton, both pioneers in the field of genomic medicine.  The prize recognises their groundbreaking research that has led to the identification of genes associated with increased susceptibility to various diseases, particularly cancer and cardiovascular disease. Their work has had a profound impact on early diagnosis, prevention, and precision medicine.
