The OncoArray is a custom SNP genotyping array specifically designed to evaluate genetic variants for association with the multiple cancers types, including breast, ovarian, prostate, colorectal and lung cancer. risk of with breast, ovarian and prostate cancer. It was developed through funding from multiple partners, including the National Cancer Institute through the GAME-ON initiative, the Genome Canada PERSPECTIVE project, and Cancer Research UK. The goal of the project is to genotype this array in samples from large case-control studies in disease-based consortia: breast cancer (through BCAC/DRIVE), ovarian cancer (through OCAC/FOCI), prostate cancer (through PRACTICAL/ELLIPSE), colorectal cancer (CORECT), lung cancer (TRICL) and in BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers (through CIMBA). Like iCOGS, the array is an Illumina Infinium array and compromises 533,531 variants. More than 400,000 samples have been genotyped on the array.
A commercial version of the OncoArray is available from Illumina.
