The study received Multi-Centre Research Ethics Committee (MREC) approval in July 1998 from the Anglia and Oxford MREC. We have been awarded a 5 year grant from Cancer Research UK until January 2027. Further details of the study can be found on the Cancer help website.
- To date (27 Sep 2025), 15,517 recruits have provided a baseline questionnaire and 14,170 recruits have provided a baseline blood sample.
- The response rate to 2, 5 and 10-year follow-up is over 75%.
