Centre For Cancer Genetic Epidemiology

 

The core components of the study include the following:

  • baseline epidemiological questionnaire; recruit self-reports lifestyle, screening and medical information
  • blood samples; for researching genotypes and other blood factors relating to risk and cancer
  • pedigree; for family history information obtained from the clinics 
  • cancer pathology and clinical details/treatments; obtained from medical records
  • tumour tissue
  • follow up, after recruitment, to include-
    • questionnaires & blood at 2, 5 and 10 years after recruitment
    • Additional intervening blood samples for eligible participants in the Early Detection program
    • NHS Digital reports for events, including those after 10 years
